Grand Rapids Whitewater asked Swamp-Side Studio to build a new website to coincide with the Urban Waters Federal Partnership announcement that the Grand River is included as one of 11 new locations to restore urban waterways.
The new site includes a blog, frequently asked questions, donations, and downloads of project concept documents to help keep the public informed and involved.
When recently asked about our web guy, I said that I refer to him as a department of our organization. Mike did more than just put our website together — he made economic recommendations, made suggestions for content, even edited our content. He’s been helping us for years. He rescued our old site from an agency and build us a new, better site. Best thing, when deadlines were tight he got the job done. And he’s into environmental works. He used to say, when we first started GRWW, that he wouldn’t be fully on board until we focused on creating a natural river and restoring sturgeon habitat. An improbable if not impossible goal, but wow, we followed the science and that’s exactly what we are doing.
